How long will it take?
This completely depends on the vehicle. If no circuit boards need to be removed then you are looking at 45 minutes to an hour. If modules need removing then you can expect around 2 hours.
If it’s a VW/Audi/Skoda or Seat, then this could take up to 4 hours depending on the security system fitted.
Do I need ID and the cars logbook?
Yes, we need to know that you own the vehicle we are doing keys for. If you have the V5 and photo ID that matches then this is fine. We can also accept some other items or ask a few security questions to confirm ownership as best as possible.
We check vehicles that have lost all of their keys for stolen markers on the Police National Computer (PNC).
I bought the car from auction and don't have the V5 yet?
We can accept ID and the invoice from the auction house (Raw2k, copart etc) with a recent date and matching mileage. We cannot do keys on the basis of ‘just trust me’ unfortunately.
I bought the car from someone and never changed the V5?
If the V5 doesn’t match, then we either need to see the original owner and their ID to get permission to do it, or we need substantial paperwork in your name for the vehicle. For example, Insurance documents, garage receipts and so on. In your name and for that car.
