Having a spare key can give you peace of mind that if you lose one, you can get right back on the road while you arrange a new one to be made. The benefits are huge, as can the bill be if you have no working key at all. Many cars only cost a little more to make keys if you have none. However, some (especially VW Group) can cost 5 times as much without a working key. For example, a spare key is around £140 for a VW Golf. If you have no keys at all, the same car is around £700!

How Long Will It Take?
That depends entirely on the car itself. Most carts take around 30 minutes to do a proper job. However some can take up to an hour. Typically it would be rare for a vehicle to take more than an hour to do a spare key.
Can Anything Go Wrong?
There’s a slim possibility with some vehicles. However you will be made aware of any risks. The vast majority of vehicles pose no risks at all. There are only a handful that can, but we have the best equipment that can either do the job without risk, or correct any issues that may arise. Don’t worry, you are in safe hands.
What If The Key Goes Wrong?
Just pick up the phone and call or text us, we would be happy to chat about it and get the issue sorted. If it’s within your 12 month warranty, this will be at no cost at all to you. I would suggest reading our warranty terms to see the process and requirements, although it’s very straight forward.
Are These Genuine Keys?
To be cost effective, we typically use aftermarket keys that look exactly like the original. Aftermarket keys won’t have the logo included, but it can usually be applied by you. If we get a batch of genuine keys in stock and it is cost effective to do so, we will provide one at no further cost.
